In the name of Allah the most compassionate and merciful.
All my life I was raised a Christian and many of my questions regarding spirituality God and the afterlife had gone unanswered.
One day I started an E-mail correspondence with a lovely young woman named Maryam , ( Mary ) the same name as my mother. She introduced me to Islam. Another Sayed Muslim online friend had introduced me to his cousin here in Canada. I visited my first mosque and was presented with a Quran. I started having my lifelong questions answered through its pages. I discovered my birth date is the same as Imam Ali , a significant thing to me. I used to be scared of the end of days and the return of Jesus. I no longer have fear and embrace the return of the hidden Imam and Jesus now.
Islam has taken away my depression and it is turning me into a better person. Shahada . I love my new Muslim brothers and sisters and I am grateful to Allah for bringing them into my life. I now have purpose and happiness. Thanks to God. Praise be to him. God is great. Joseph

This a most helpful website for me who wishes to better understand Islam and the different denominations. I feel very sad that Americans - by and large - have little understanding of Islam and many misconceptions. I believe if ever there is to peace in our world we must learn and understand more about each other and our different yet basically similar beliefs. It is my sincere hope rhat websites like yours will help contribute to that understanding.

Asalamalikum,
I would also like to congratulate you on the month of Ramadhan aswel. Your newsletter for this blessed month was thought provoking. And how cogent it was when you described how the verse 56:77-79 makes a perfect link to the holy household (asws). To put it simply, it was beautiful, and I shall forward it to my Sunni friends, who hopefully, shall also appreciate this amazing newsletter as much as I did.
